Branch Head access to close stores, Lopez had to drive 17 miles to a big city Just to find the only suitable groceries but also Spanish language newspapers. People might say that Raymond branch was born at the right time and live in the right place, but the experiences of Dora Lopez troubles that thought.
I do agree with brant’s claim, race plays a big part in this, having better access, being a certain color, and having successful people in your life can play a big part. Not having that many people your race in America and I know English can be very hard for a person trying to be successful and getting great opportunities.
My own literacy history is not having as much access branch would. I will consider myself in common with Lopez. me being black growing up in a black community in a public school I didn’t really have as much resources but my mom and my teachers. Who wanted to make sure they would try to help me become a successful black woman. They think because you’re from the ghetto and you’re black you’re not smart you’re not going to be successful but that isn’t true race doesn’t have to do with anything. You work for it you’re going to get it no matter your color.
